It represents the mentor as a partner responsible for watering the seeds of opportunity sown by the good works of others. Mentors cannot replace the determination of another person--they simply nurture the options that will one day match those that are prepared for.

Throughout your growth: remain steadfast, do not disturb the soil, do not tear up the roots, do not pick or prune your chances too soon. Trust your mentor partnership, and don't doubt the quantity of the source or its ability to nurture. Possibilities appear when one person with life experience works to develop and enhance another life flow continuously. At the same time, the reservoir of future reward grows without end.

The relationship matures to abundance, diligence, patience, and the ability to focus with determination are the fundamental differences between a distraction and the promise of a bountiful harvest.
